WF League Hall of Fame

The Wells Fargo League Hall of Fame was created in 2010 to honor the careers of players worthy of special distinction.  The initial class was 8 members strong with 4 ladies and 4 men being inducted.

 

The qualifications are relatively simple.  To be considered for HOF recognition, a player must meet the following simple qualifications:

 

  • Candidate must have played at minimum 2 full seasons in the WF Spring League.

  • Candidate must stand out from all other players in terms of talent on the field and/or individual achievements during league play.

  • Candidate must have made significant contributions to the establishment of the team(s) or the league itself over the course of their career.

 

Each player was nominated by committee and voted upon by the existing, active members of the HOF.  Each year the HOF inducts one Female and one Male player based on the results of the voting.

 

As of 2016, here is a breakdown by team of players that have been inducted in the WFL HOF.  The team listed is the current  team the player is participating:

Class of 2016

  • Meghan Oldis (Uptown Ballers 2012-13 / Sidewinders (2014-Present):    Meghan has been a force in the league ever since her debut season with Uptown Ballers.  She has always been considered a premium defensive specialist and has produced consistently on offense.  She is has appeared in 4 All Star Games and was named MVP of the 2013 All Star game.  She has 1 HR Derby championship (2014).  She has placed in the Top 5 of AVG / OBP / RBI twice during her career.  Her career AVG (2012-2016) is 0.535 / OBP is 0.661 / RBI total is 33 during that same span.  She is the 4th member of the Sidewinders to be inducted into the HOF.

  • Joel Gearhart (Bandits 2007-08, 2010-11 / Gold Ru$h 2009 / Blue Heat 2012-Present):   Joel is one of the longest participating players in WFL history.  He has been a long time captain of the Bandits / Blue Heat teams of the past.  He was a member of the 2009 Gold Ru$h that won the tournament championship, as well.  With a career AVG of 0.679 / SLG % of 1.294 / RBI total of 50, Gearhart has definitely produced offensively.  42 of his 74 career hits have been for extra bases.  He finished in the Top 5 in RBI twice, ERA once, K's twice (leading the league in K's in 2012.

 

 

 

Class of 2015

  • Tabitha Wood (Titans 2010-11, Gold Ru$h, 2012-2015):     Feared at the plate and more so defensively, Tabitha Wood established herself during the days of the Titans as one of the most talented ladies to ever take the field in a WFL game.  After joining the Gold Ru$h, her reputation grew even more as she was named league MVP in 2014.  Tabitha has been selected for 2 All Star games and made the most of those opportunities by winning the All Star MVP in 2011 and 2014.  With a rifle arm, Tabitha has consistently proven herself a threat at the plate as well.  She boasts a career AVG of 0.568, OBP of 1.083 and scored 17 times over her career.  She is the only two-time All Star MVP in league history.

  • Steve Downs (Reversibles / Uptown Ballers / Stampede / Sidewinders), 2010-Present):   Steve Downs is a 5-time All Star (tied for most appearances), 2-time HR Derby Champ (only multiple winner amonst the men) and All Star MVP in 2013 when he led the Red All Star team to its only victory in five attempts.  Always considered a power threat at the plate, Downs has a career AVG of 0.723 (not including his 2015 AVG of 0.875), career slug pct of 1.361.  Over his career, Steve has driven in a total of 68 RBI for an average of double digit RBI each season he has played.

 

 

 

Class of 2014

  • Kerri Metzker (Young Uns, 2011-14):     Kerri was inducted as a member of the Young Uns.  Metzker played in the league from 2011-2014.  She was a member of the 2013 WF League champions and a 3-time All Star selection (2011-13).  With a career batting average of 0.450 and on base pct of 0.500, Kerri clearly was a threat at the plate.  Over the course of her career spanning 3 seasons, Metzker drove in 10 RBI in just 48 plate appearances.  As a member of the Gold Division All Start team, Metzker played a part in Gold winning the All Star game for the third time.

  • Coby Prondecki (Play2Reign, 2009-Present):   Coby is the first Play2Reign team member to be inducted into the HOF.  Prondecki has built a great reputation as an acrobatic SS and power hitter over his 6-year career.  Prondecki has guided Play2Reign to two divisional titles and the 2014 WF League championship.  He is a 5-time All Star selection and was named 2011 All Star Game MVP in leading the Gold Division to a win in the first ever All Star Game.  Carrer wise, Prondecki has a 0.759 batting AVG, 1.690 Slug Pct and 32 RBI in a mere 61 plate appearances.

 

 

 

Class of 2013

  • Lapriesta Schifferle (Young Uns, 2009-14):    Lapriesta (or LP) sports a career batting AVG of 0.265 and on base pct of 0.420.  LP was a primary force in forming the Young Uns back in 2009 and promptly led them to four championship game appearances with 3 runner up finishes and one WF League championship (2013).  LP is known as a speedster with 2 Fastest Runner Compeition victories in the All Star Skills competition.  LP was named to the 2013 All Star Team for the Gold Division. 

  • Ontrell McCray (Gold Ru$h, 2009-Present):   Ontrell  has spent his career with Gold Ru$h (and previously Bail Out$).  McCray has a career average of 0.700, slugging percentage of 1.100 and has driven in 95 RBI over the past 5 years.  He has played on 4 WF League championship teams.  Ontrell is a two-time All-Star selection (2012-2013)

 

 

 

Class of 2012

 

  • Sonya Stinson (Gold Ru$h/Bail Out$, 2008-Present) - Sonya has played a big part in 5 tournament championship teams as a part of the Gold Ru$h/Bail Out$ dynasty from 2008-2012.   After suffering a knee injury in 2009, Sonya returned to full action in 2010 and quickly got back into full swing leading the Bail Out$ to a resounding tournament championship.  Over her career, Sonya has set many season/career records for the GR/BO teams.  In 2008, Sonya set a record for plate appearances with 55 plate appearances.  Sonya boasts a career batting average of 0.584 with a career 35 RBIs.  Sonya has been an All-Star selection in 2011 and 2012.  With her induction, Sonya becomes the 7th member of the Gold Ru$h/Bail Out$ dynasty in the HOF.

  • Adam Reikowski (Young-Uns, 2009-14)  - Adam has long been the most feared power hitter in the WF League.  Adam has been part of the foundation of the Young-Uns that has seen much success and much heartbreak in the tournament championship game.  Adam has helped lead the Young-Uns to the tourney finals from 2010-2012 only to come up short of winning it all.  That doesn't tarnish Adam's accomplishments within the league as he has been named an All-Star in 2010, 2011 and 2012.  Adam has also helped lead the Young-Uns to a Regular Season Title (2010) and Divisional title (2011).  Adam is know for his strong arm that served him well while playing 3B and OF for the Young-Uns over the years.

 

 

Class of 2011

  •  Nicole Miles-Todd (Gold Rush/Bail Out$):   Nicole has been in the league since it started back in 2006.  Starting out with the Gold Rush then morphing into a Bail Out$, Nicole has been on each tournament champion in WFL history.  With her athleticsm, Nicole has been a stalwart in the OF and 2nd base during her career.  She possesses a 0.471 career batting average while driving in an impressive 48 RBI.  Nicole was selected to the 2010 and 2011 All Star teams.  In week 5 of the 2011 season, Nicole was selected as the Player of the Week within the league.

  • Michele Wilson (Reversibles):   Michele has been one of the premier lady left-handers in the WFL.  Long known for her power, Michele has been one of the anchors of the Reversibles batting lineup for years.  Michele is another league original as she started play in 2006.  Michele has been named to the 2010 and 2011 All Star teams.  When the league held its 1st ever All Star game in 2011, Michele was named the Female MVP of the game for her hitting during the Gold's blowout win over the Red Division All Stars.

  • Justin Porterfield (Bail Out$):   Justin entered the league during the 2009 season for the Bail Out$.  In his 3 seasons, he has been a vitalelement of 3 tournament championships.  Justin is one of the fastest players in the league as witnessed by his victory in the 2011 All Star Fastest Runner competition during All Star night.  Known as the 'Usain Bolt of the WFL', Justin is not only fast, but an excellent power hitter.  He has a career slugging percentage of 1.455%, 0.701 batting average and 0.714 on base percentage.

 

Class of 2010 - The First Eight

 

  • Lauren Hodges (2009-2014):  Lauren has played for the past two seasons with the Young Guns.  A stellar 1B for one of the better franchises in the WF Co-Ed league, Lauren is arguably one of the best female hitters in league history.  Lauren is the anchor of the Young Guns infield and usually bats in the #2 slot of the lineup.

 

  • Katie Cost (2006-present):  Katie Cost has played on the first four WF Co-Ed league regular season and tournament champion teams.  As a member of Gold Rush (2006-2008) and Bail Out$ (2009-present), Katie has provided sparkling defense and timely hitting.  With a career batting average of 0.504, Katie has driven in over 40 runs during her career.  Katie has been considered by many to be the finest fielding 1B in the league during her career.

 

  • Syreeta Gray (2006-2009, 2011, 2013):  Syreeta entered the league in 2006 never having played organized softball before.  Quickly, Syreeta became a threat in both LF and at the plate.  Also a member of the first four WF league regular and tournament championship teams with the Gold Rush (2006-2008) and Bail Out$ (2009 and 2011), Syreeta is took the 2010 season off in order to deliver her second child.  Known for her fiery attitude, Syreeta has never been afraid to attack a long fly ball or pitch.

 

  • Brooke Norris (2007-2011, 2014-present):  Another female 1B, Brooke entered the league in 2007 with the Loan Rangers (2007-2008).  After her two-year stint, she helped organize the Wells Express team (2009-2011).  During her tenure as captain, Wells Express finished as the runner-up in 2009 to the Bail Out$.  She also helped the Loan Rangers reach the tournament championship game in 2008 losing to the Gold Rush.  Known for her competitiveness, Brooke has led her team once again to the upper division of the WF league in 2010.

 

  • Robey Caldwell (2006-2012):  Considered by many in the league as the player with the best arm in the league, Robey has been a staple on four championship teams from 2006-2010 as part of the Gold Rush (2006-2008) and Bail Out$ (2009-present) championship squads.  Robey has pegged many a runner at the plate and proved to be as clutch a hitter as there is in the league.  Robey boasts a career 0.704 batting average, 18 home runs and 126 RBI.  For his career, Robey also has a slugging percentage of 1.427%, meaning he averages nearly 1.5 bases for each at bat.

 

  • Jeff Brown (2008-present):  Jeff Brown has become one of the premiere  pitchers in the WF league.  With a career record of 12-2, Jeff Brown has paced the Young Guns to deep runs in the post season of 2009 and the brink of a regular season championship in 2010.  This season, Jeff has the Young Guns giving up an average of 5.25 runs per game.

 

  • Don Ramadan (2007-present):  Don is one of the truly great lead off hitters in WF league history.  With a mixture of speed and power, Don creates havoc on the base paths to opposing teams.  Arguably the fastest runner in the league from 1st to home.  In addition to his offensive weapons, Don has proven to be as solid an OF as there is in the league.

 

  • Jeff Greissinger (2006-present):  Captained the Gold Rush (2006-2008) and Bail Out$ (2009-present) to a combined 4 regular season and tournament championships in the WF league's first four years.  During that span, his teams have lost a total of 2 regular season games and boast a perfect record in the post-season.  In addition to his achievements as captain, Jeff sports a nifty 0.700 career batting average.  Not known for his defense, he has been the 3B for the Gold Rush and Bail Out$.
