WFL ANNUAL AWARDS

With the introduction of the All Star Game in 2011, the WFL decided to make it a special night to recognize the WFL players.  Leading up to the All Star Game, a pregame ceremony was added to recognize all of the great achievements that deserved some type of recognition...and a trophy.

As with all new traditions like the All Star Night, it has grown with new awards being presented each year.  Here is a listing and a brief history of each award that is currently being presented in the All Star Night Pregame Ceremony.

  • WFL MVP Award:  presented to a Female and Male player each year.  Award represents the two players that had significant achievements on the playing field and stood out amongst their peers.  This award is voted on by all of the captains within the WFL.  This is not a career award but represents the top players for a single season.  This award was started in 2013.

  • Spirit Award:  this award was created for the 2014 season.  The Spirit Award was created to recognize an individual that embodies the spirit of the WFL as a league that offers opportunities to compete, network and have fun.  The recipient of this award always displays an indominable spirit no matter the outcome of the game.

  • Commissioner's Achievement Award:  Created in 2014, this award is a special recognition award given out by the commissioner to recognize an individual that has supported the league in other ways than just by competing on the field.  Recipients of this award will have gone above and beyond to advance and expand the reach of the WFL beyond the playing field.
