WFL MVP AWARD

Introduced in 2013, the MVP Award has quickly become the most sought after annual award.  Voted on by the Captains, the MVP Award is given to the most deserving Female and Male players for that season.

2013 MVP Award

  • Nicole Miles Todd (Gold Ru$h) - led the league in Batting AVG (.727) and OBP (.739).  Tied for second in RBIs with 7...one shy of league leader.  Triple crown threat all season and played great defense at 2B for the Gold Division winners.  Her AVG and OBP set league records for female batters over the course of a season.

  • Derek Hilst (Uptown Ballers) - Hilst led the Uptown Ballers to a 2nd place finish in the RED Division with a robust (.846) Batting AVG, 1.615 Slug PCT and league leading 24 RBIs.  As the anchor of the infield at SS, Derek carried the Ballers on his back throughout the regular season in his rookie campaign in the WFL.

2014 MVP Award

  • Tabitha Wood (Gold Ru$h) - the trademark of the Gold Ru$h over the years has been the stellar play they have received from their female lineup.  Tabitha was no exception when she returned from a year off to start a family.  Tabitha picked up where she left off by leading the league in Batting AVG and OBP.  In addition, she anchored the Gold Ru$h infield at SS...the only female to hold that position for a division leader in WFL history.

  • Jeff Brown (Young Uns) - the fiery competitor that he is, Jeff Brown, has always shyed away from individual recognition.  He has always put his team ahead of himself, but in 2014, he had an incredible season.  Brown finished the season with a .792 Batting AVG, 1.583 Slug Pct which led the league and gave up an incredibly miniscule 3 walks throughout the season as pitcher.

2015 MVP Award

  • Courntey Buchanan (Gold Ru$h) - Courtney kept the Gold Ru$h stranglehold on the Female MVP award.  Coutney became the 3rd GR female to take the award.  She certainly deserved it by winning the fabled Triple Crown becoming the first female to lead the league in AVG, OBP and RBI in the same season.  On top of that, her play defensively helped the Gold Ru$h to a 7-3 record despite losing both the 2013 and 2014 female MVPs to injury and family obligations.

  • Robbie Redic (Wells Sox) - Redic had a breakout year that really didn't surprise many after watching him play during the 2014 season.  A versatile player that played SS, OF and even pitcher and doing all at the hightest level.  He smashed his way into the record books by breaking the Slugging % record and the RBI record.  His new RBI record broke the old record by 14 RBI for a total of 39.  Broken down...he drove in almost 4 RBI per regular season game.  He hit 2 grand slam homers during the 2015 season and had 8 RBI in one game alone.

2016 MVP Award

  • Tanya Wiley (Wells Sox) - Tanya led the WFL Ladies in all of the major batting categories to capture the Female Triple Crown.  With an AVG of 0.640 / OBP of 0.667 / RBI total of 14, Wiley became the 2nd female to capture the Triple Crown.  Tanya's 14 RBI set a new WFL Record for RBI in a season as well.  Tanya became the first non-Gold Ru$h MVP winner ever.

  • ZackNicols (Uptown Ballers) - Nichols was a force for the Ballers throughout the 2016 season.  While he was in the lineup, the Ballers were a boasted a 5-3 record.  He accounted for 30% of the Ballers runs in 2016.  His AVG of 0.844 and RBI total of 21 were #2 in the league.  Zack Nichols averaged almost 4 RBI per game that he played in during the 2016 season.
