WFL Commissioner's Achivement AWARD
Introduced in 2014, the Commissioner's Achievement Award will be given annually by the acting Commissioner to a captain and/or other individual that has promoted and/or advanced the WFL as a league through supporting the league, leading a team to significant achievements or provided support in other manners that deserve to be recognized. Award is named after Jeff Greissinger who has promoted and acted as organizor for the WFL since the 2007 season. He has participated in all 9 seasons of the WFL and was captain of 8 consecutive tournament champions.

Jeff Greissinger (Gold Ru$h) - hard not to name him as the initial recipient of the award that is named after him. But to be humble, since I am writing this. It is hard to put into words how much this award means to me. I have had lots of help over the years in making the WFL what it is today and look forward to being able to use this award to recognize those individuals that deserve more recognition for promoting our league and making the best softball league in the area.

Jeff Brown (Uptown Ballers) - Jeff Brown has been an integral part of fostering the league throughout his career which began with the 2009 season when the Young Guns entered the WFL. Since then, Brown has always been quick to volunteer for various responsibilities before, during and after the season. Throughout the past six years, Jeff Brown has gone from heated rival to one of my most trusted allies within the WFL. Through constant discussions and feedback, the WFL has prospered these past years in large part to JB's insight and objectiveness. Brown is a multiple All Star selection and member of the HOF being inducted in the very first class in 2010 - The Great Eight as they have become known as.

Justin Porterfield (Sidewinders) - Justin Portefield started out as a championship winning teammate and captain alongside me. Throughout his carreer, Justin has been recognized as a 5-time All Star, captained to AS winning teams. captain of a Tournament Champion, two-time divisional champion and HOF member - Class of 2011. Over the years, Justin has been the third part of the 'braintrust' of myself, Jeff Brown and Justin. Always willing to help out in many capacities and organizing many of the recognition awards that i have received (including this award). Justin continues to show his appreciate for the WFL and being a part of such a great league that his efforts have certainly contributied to its succes.

Nathan Smith (Big Red) - it takes a lot of commitment to be a captain in our league. Not only do you have to coordinate with your players to get them to the ballpark, but you have to deal with hundreds of emails from the commissioner. In addition to being captain of Big Red, Nate has pitched in several areas of the league to ensure that it runs smoothly. Nate has picked up many double duties as scorer and sacrificed his personal playing time to ensure that everyone on his team sees action when they show up on Thursday nights. That is no small accomplishment when some consider Nate one of the most talented players in the league and this is backed up by his league leading batting AVG in 2016. Nate has been instrumental in providing feedback (both good and bad) on league matters. This has definitely assisted in making our league better each year.
